Results and Conclusion...

(ED. 10U Silver winner was Vipers 99 not Vipers 97)

I would like to start off by thanking everyone that came to the 2008 Mustang Fall Roundup. We had so much fun!! 29 teams, beautiful weather, great parks, a great crowd, and most of all, great softball!!!

The Coach's Home Run Contest was the highlight of the day. A lot of old men putting all they had into doing what their girls do everyday!! It was really a lot of fun. But the winner came from the Tuscaloosa Titans 8U team. Greg Robertson hit the most over the fence in the final round to take the championship! It took 5 Home Runs or better to get to the final round, Greg hit 6 in the first, and then his total of 6 in the second round won him his entry fee for the tournament.

Other finishers were Keith Holbrooks (Hartselle Heat 8U) with 7 HRs in the first and 5 in the second round, Terry Ash (Rip Tide 99) with 6 HRs in the first and 4 in the second and Kenneth Hall with the Mustangs 97 had 5 HRs in the first and 3 in the second. In all 22 of the 29 teams participated in the contest. The girls were cheering on their coaches!!


Then in the softball tournament, that WAS what we were there for... we had some great games and great teams.

UPDATE: ON MUSTANG ROUNDUP

The Mustang Fall Roundup will be a 1 day tournament for 8U, 10U, 12U and a two day tournament for 14U

1 Day entry fee at $180.00
1 Day entry fee 8U at $125.00
2 Day entry fee at $220.00

Gate Fee will be $7 on Saturday (the one day NSA Rate) and $5 on Sunday for the 14U teams.

One day tournaments will be a 2 pool single elimination for 8s, 10s, 12s.

Two day tournaments will be a 3 pool single elimination for 14s.

10U will play in two different brackets Gold and Silver.

Directions

The New AT Holt Park is behind the Elementary School

1. From I-65 take the Fultondale Walker's Chaple Exit
2. Go to Highway 31 and head South (S/B a right)
3. Take a left at the first red light.
4. Turn right at the school and bear to the right and drive to the back.

Directions to Gardendale Girls Softball Park

• Take 65 North and exit on the Fieldstown Road (exit #271). Go right at the end of the exit.
• Go to the fourth red light and take a right on highway 31. (A Walgreens will be on the right)
• Go to the next red light and take a left on Tarrant Road.
• Go to the next red light and take a right onto Pineywoods Road (Sprouse’s Store is on the right after the red light.)
• Go to Pineywood Baptist Church on the right (before the curve) and take the road to the left in front of the church. That will lead directly into the ball park.

Info Fall Roundup

• Tournament will follow NSA rules
  
• We will be giving trophies to the Top two teams in every age group
  
• Plus we will be giving medals to the Championship team in every age group
  
• The 10U group will be divided up between a silver and gold bracket if there is enough interest. Teams will be divided up by year. 1st year teams grouped together.
  
• Other age groups will play as normal.
• 8U will play Saturday only.
• Gate fees will conform to NSA guidelines.
  
• Tournament will be a 3 pool single elimination
